Learning New Things

Moss on the forest floor

No matter what you do, no matter what it is, some people will not like it and others will love it. It doesn't matter what it is. And to top it off, many people will feel the need to announce to the world if they don't like it and exactly why. Why can't they just keep their big mouth and opinions to themselves? It is different, if you ask their opinion. The flaws of people are apparent. Some people are so busy judging others, they forget they have faults also.

I am making this year, the year of taking charge of my life and not looking back. If you look back at your life, what was, or what could have been..........it can bring you down now. Then you will never pull yourself up and prosper. Do not let that happen! Look ahead and make your list of little steps and you will be on your way.

My steps for this week is:

  • 1. Learn how to watermark my photos.
  • 2. Learn how to make my text so it cannot be copied and pasted.
  • 3. Learn to make some photos in black and white.
  • 4. Learn how to put photos on cds so they can be saved.
  • 6. Study templates for blogs so I can change one of my blogs over to its own site.

That sounds good for a start, don't you think?

Identifying My Many Streams Of Income

In trying to keep with my goal of adding many streams of income, I have been working on updating my first eBook, My Homesteading Journey. It needs to be updated every now and then. So in a short time I should have that done and for sale again.

Another stream of income, is my Bonanza booth. So I am working on adding more items for sale there. The more you have the more you sell. If you don't have sales, you just keep adding items. I did that when I had my eBay store. The difference here is that it does not cost anything to list the items on Bonanza so you can just keep listing. I am.

I consider another stream of income is the savings I can achieve through saving money on bills and things we buy. It is a savings of money not spent. So it is another stream of income.

I have been putting ads on some of my blogs and you will see that people have been doing this with me. I like those kind of ads better than affiliate links. They are more personal. I know the person in a way. At least I have emailed back and forth and hopefully, they are who they say they are. That is another stream of income.

Of course, I sell guitar strings on my two websites and that is another stream also. The sales did good for the holidays and now hoping they will pick up more. Working on the marketing part of that.

How many streams of income have you identified in your life? Remember it comes from other sources than just someone paying you for something. Could be a garden which makes it so you don't have to pay so much at the store? Or using coupons to buy groceries and other things? Or bartering? What about swapping babysitting with another mother who works a different shift than you do? What a big savings that would be! Think about it. Sometimes it is right under your nose and you just have to identify it and work on it a little bit.

Others Creating Your Content

One of the ways that money is generated on the computer is by websites that have others who create their own content. When an author writes a book all their content is in their own book. But now things have changed. The content is all over the internet on many different websites. Like eBay did when they started out with sellers creating their own listings. Then other sites, such as Amazon and others followed suit. They just operate the site and the sellers create the listings, add their own photos and the site collects the fees from the sellers and the sellers interact with the buyers. That is nice way to do business.

Look at the way the blogging software sites do the same thing. Bloggers write the text and promote their own blogs and the people who read the blogs keep the bloggers fired up to write more. The blogging software sites such as Google and WordPress make money off the ads on the sites. What a great way to do business. No writing, just have a site that can operate fairly easy and let the people who use it generate all the content for it. I like that concept pretty much.

On the internet there are new rules and new ways of doing business, writing, selling or just interacting with friends. Everything is about content. Writing text. Writing ads. Writing copy for the products you sell. You need to know how to write for whatever audience or market you are trying to reach. But if you have a platform that means others are doing that for you....wow, then you are onto something!

Whatever you decide to do to create your many streams of income, one of them should be an online presence for sure. The internet is creating many multi-millionaires every day. Maybe you don't want to be a millionaire, but just be comfortable and not stressed over bills. I can understand that. That is what I want too. I hope I have given you some ideas of where to start or things to at least think about. The potential is within all of us. We just have to find it and develop it.
